The apparatus is designed for treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice) by exposing an infant’s skin to a light of blue-green spectral region (superbright light-emitting diodes) corresponding to the long-wave slope of absorption band of bilirubin.
The use of new type of radiation sources (light-emitting diodes) for development of apparatus allows to increase the efficiency of phototherapy, to exclude the side effects typical for lamp light sources.
Main technical characteristics:
- The spectral range of the radiation is 474 ÷ 505 nm
- Dimensions of irradiated surface: not less than 200 x 500 mm
- Power density on the child’s body:
minimum 1.0 mW / cm2
the maximum is 6.0 mW / cm2 - Power consumption: 150 W
- Operating voltage: 220 V
- Weight: not more than 4 kg
- Dimensions: 240 × 200 × 120 mm
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES OF PHOTHERAPEUTIC APPARATUS “MALYSH”:
- Using a new type of radiation sources — super-bright LEDs in visible spectral region
- Invariability of the spectral composition of radiation throughout lifespan
- High quantum yield of lumirubin, which contributes to the reduction of treatment time in 2-3 times
- Possibility of managing irradiance of acting radiation in dependence on the severity of the disease
- Absence of side effects
- Lifespan up to 50 000 hours (compared to lamp counterparts — no more than 2,000 hours)
